Transfer Programs
-
-
Students enrolling in a California community college this fall could be eligible for a dual-admission program to the California State University system.
The Transfer Success Pathway (TSP) program is designed to increase access to any of the CSU’s 22 universities. If academic, financial or personal hardships prevented you from attending the CSU in the past, this program could help you earn your degree at the CSU.
You are eligible for the TSP program if you are enrolling in a California Community College and have not earned any college credit since completing high school or earning a GED.
- If you are taking college courses in the summer immediately following your high school graduation, you’re still eligible for TSP.
- If you have taken dual enrollment coursework while in high school, you’re still eligible for TSP.
Eligible students can apply to the program to:
- Enter into an agreement with the CSU and receive guaranteed admission to the degree program and campus of your choice.
- You must meet all TSP requirements within three years.
- Available degree programs vary by each CSU.
- Receive personalized guidance from CSU representatives to create an educational plan that will help you transfer in three years or less.
- Map out your coursework using the CSU Transfer Planner portal to ensure you’re on track to earning your degree.
Discover your future at a CSU by searching for a TSP-eligible program.
Choose an Associate Degree for Transfer
An Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) is a two-year associate degree that is fully transferable to California State University (CSU) campuses, as well as many participating partner institutions including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), members of the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities (AICCU), and selected fully online universities.
By choosing an ADT, you'll earn a "degree with a guarantee" at numerous universities within California and beyond!
General Education Pattern Transfer Programs
-
Starting Fall 2025, California community colleges have adopted the California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC), replacing the separate CSU GE and IGETC patterns. Cal-GETC provides a single, streamlined pathway for students transferring to either a California State University (CSU) or University of California (UC) campus.
What does this mean for you?
- If you completed CSU GE or IGETC before Fall 2025, your work will still meet transfer GE requirements for the CSU and most UCs.
- If you are currently pursuing general education requirements, consult with a counselor to understand how Cal-GETC applies to your academic plan.
- For students starting their general education coursework after Fall 2025, Cal-GETC will be the only GE pattern for transfer.
For more details, schedule an appointment with a counselor or visit our Career and Transfer Center.
Academic Counseling Transfer Services -
A student may submit a certification request form to the Admissions and Records Office to request an official certification of CSUGE or IGETC be sent to the student’s transferring university. Admissions will send a complete or partial certification of CSUGE or IGETC at the student’s request, however partial IGETC certifications have certain limitations.
If a student is using coursework from another college or high school to complete the certification, an official transcript must already be on file, or be submitted together with the request. Admissions will not hold certification requests until transcripts are received.
