Loss of BOG Fee Waiver EligibilityLoss of BOG

Effective Fall 2016, California community college students receiving the Board   of Governors (BOG) Fee Waiver must meet minimum academic and progress standards to be eligible for the program.  Students must: 

• Maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of at least 2.0
• Successfully complete at least 50 percent of all units attempted

 If a student is not able to meet any combination of these standards for two consecutive primary terms (fall and spring), it will result in a loss of fee waiver eligibility. Click here for more information about Loss of BOG Fee Waiver.


Cost of Attending DVC

 16-17 cost of attendance

Academic year length: 2 semesters (9 months)

Resident fees: Based on enrollment in 14 units per semester (14 units x $46 per unit = $644)

Other fees not included:

  • Student Union Fee of $1 per unit ($10 max per academic year)
  • Student Activity Fee of $5 per semester
  • Student Rep Fee of $2 per semester
  • These fees are NOT covered by th Board of Governor's Fee Waiver Program

Non resident tuition: $208 per unit in addition to Student Cost of Attendance

Books and supplies:

  • Cost of books ($982)
  • Educational supplies ($252)
  • Course material fees ($144)
  • Computer-related expenses ($414)

Food and housing: Allowance for rent, utilities, household supplies, food, snacks, and meals on campus

Transportation: Represents allowance for student’s transportation to and from classes and work

Personal expenses: Includes clothing, laundry and dry-cleaning, personal care, gifts, recreation, medical etc

Loan origination fees: For student loan borrowers, loan origination fees are added to the budget
