About the DVC Food Pantry
Food Pantry services
Currently enrolled students are eligible for Food Pantry services! Visit our new self-serve shopping experience. Please bring your reusable grocery bag.
We are open on the following days and times and located in the Student Union Building on the first floor, room 101. Please wear a face mask and remember to bring a rolling cart to help transport groceries. You may pick up a bag of groceries at any time during our business hours at the Student Union front desk.

Free Produce Days
These events are held twice per semester fall and spring providing a variety of vegetables and fruits promoting healthy eating. Please join us for our last event for spring term in front of the Student Union Building from 12-3 pm on April 11th.

The DVC Food Pantry
We know that a number of DVC students face serious financial challenges and are food
insecure. According to the 2018-2019 HOPE Study, forty-one percent of Diablo Valley College students experience low or very low levels
of food security. Food insecurities affect students’ ability to concentrate and focus
on their academic studies. Students also struggle to balance proper nutrition with
paying college tuition.
The DVC Food Pantry serves as a free supplemental food resource for all students who may need it. This service was made possible by the California Chancellor's Office Hunger Free allocation, DVC Foundation donations from faculty, staff and community members, DVC Retirees Association Board, and grants from Kaiser Permanente, Whole Foods 365, Safeway, and the John Muir Community Health Fund.
The Diablo Valley College Food Pantry opened March 2018 in the Student Union Building by the leadership of DVC’s Associated Students in partnership with the:
- English Department,
- College Administration,
- Student Life Office,
- Foundation Office, and
- Contra Costa/Solano County Food Bank.
Donations
The DVC Foundation accepts monetary donations. However, the food pantry does not currently accept food, personal hygiene and toiletry donations.
