Dental Hygiene Program
Diablo Valley College is home to one of the most respected and affordable Dental Hygiene Programs in the Bay Area. This two-year program includes classes and valuable hands-on experience in our Community Dental Hygiene Clinic.
This program is highly competitive as only 20 students, chosen by lottery, are admitted each academic year. It is required that students complete their course work in two years, which includes two summer sessions.
Students who complete the Dental Hygiene Program will be fully prepared to take the required written and clinical licensing exams. DVC proudly has a 100 percent pass rate on the National and Regional Dental Hygiene Board examinations.
Our dental hygiene program offers an associate degree in dental hygiene.
You can learn more about the requirements in our catalog.
We know that navigating degrees and certificate requirements can be tricky. Once you have enrolled at DVC, you can schedule an appointment with a counselor to discuss which option is best for you.
Being a registered dental hygienist is very rewarding. Hygienists not only have the respect of their peers in this highly skilled field, but also work with people on a day-to-day basis to help them live healthier lives.
