SparkPoint Financial Coaching
SparkPoint Contra Costa – DVC is a community based partnership designed to help individuals
become financially sustainable. We help students advance their knowledge on budgeting,
credit, and overcoming financial challenges. You'll get the support you need with
free financial workshops and coaching!
What are SparkPoint services?
A one stop financial coaching center helping individuals overcome financial challenges
– we’re here to help!!!!
Our goal at SparkPoint Contra Costa – DVC is to help you by increasing income, managing
credit, and building assets.
ALL services are FREE. Workshops are open to all students. We offer:
- Individual services
- Financial coaching
- Credit coaching
- Legal services
How to access SparkPoint individualized coaching services:
In-person SparkPoint services are available in Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 am -
3 pm in the EOPS office suite located on the first floor of the Student Services Center
at the Pleasant Hill campus.

SparkPoint coaching services
Financial Coaching
SparkPoint Contra Costa – DVC provides individuals the opportunity to learn about the benefits of budgeting by working with our financial coach. Students can advance toward their near and long term future goals by getting help in:
- budgeting,
- debt management, and
- learning the basic structures of saving for the future.
A SPCC – DVC financial coach may also help individuals enroll in health coverage programs, such as Contra Costa CARES and Covered California, and enroll in benefits based on eligibility and requirements.
Credit Coaching
Our credit coach at SPCC – DVC understands the importance of good credit and how good credit can positively help you in the long-term.
Work with our credit coach to:
- obtain your credit report,
- review the items on your report,
- learn how to read, build, and improve your credit, and
- correct any mistakes that may appear on your credit history.
Legal Services
As a one-stop center, SPCC – DVC also works with consumer law attorneys to assist with consumer legal issues or if you are considering bankruptcy. Issues include:
- identify theft,
- inaccuracies with credit reports,
- and concerns with debt collection.

Schedule an Appointment
In-person appointments are available Mondays and Wednesdays on Mondays and Wednesdays between the hours of 11 am and 3 pm in the EOPS suite located on the first floor of the Student Services Center at the Pleasant Hill campus.
Virtual appointments are available Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
