Privacy Policy Summary

Thank you for visiting Contra Costa Community College District (4CD) websites and reviewing our privacy policy. Our policy is simple: We collect no personal information about you unless you choose to provide that information to us. We do not share, sell, or transfer any personal information to a third party. Some of our web pages (such as online forms, registration forms, web discussion forums) let you voluntarily submit personal information.

Non-personal Information We Record

If you do nothing during your visit but browse through the website, read pages, or download information, our website will automatically record some general information about your visit.

During your visit, our web servers will record:

The Internet domain for your Internet service, such as "xcompany.com." The type of browser (such as "Chrome version X" or "Internet Explorer version X") that you are using. The type of operating system that you use (such as Macintosh, Unix, or Windows). The date and time you visit our site, and the web pages that you visit on our site. The address of the previous website you were visiting, if you linked to us from another website. We use this information for statistical analysis, to help us make our site more useful to visitors. This tracking system does not record information about individuals.

Our site uses third-party partner MogoSME to help us recognize your device and understand how you use our site(s) so that we can improve our services to reflect your interests and serve you advertisements about our college and services that are likely to be of more interest to you. Specifically, MogoSME collects information about your activity on our site(s) to enable us to:

  • measure and analyze traffic and browsing activity on our site(s);
  • show advertisements for our college courses and/or services to you on third-party sites;
  • measure and analyze the performance of our advertising campaigns;

Information from E-mail You Send to Us

If you decide to send us an electronic mail message (e-mail), the message will usually contain your return e-mail address. If you include personally-identifying information in your e-mail because you want us to address issues specific to your situation, we may use that information in responding to your request. We may be required by law to disclose information that you submit.

Information Collected from Interactive Forms

On some of our web pages we offer interactive forms that let you voluntarily submit personal information. This occurs when you are registering for various workshops and services offered by us, or submitting comments to various web discussion forums. In those cases, all submitted information is used only for the expressed purposes for which it is intended and is not made available to any third party.

Do Not Track (DNT)

Some internet browsers have incorporated “Do Not Track” features that send signals to web sites you visit but because there is not yet a common understanding of how to interpret DNT signals. Our websites currently does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals.
