Brendan Sullivan is an Adjunct Professor of Communication who teaches courses on public speaking, persuasive speaking, interpersonal communication, and intercultural communication.
He received his undergraduate degree in communication from Santa Clara University in 2020 and then pursued a graduate degree in communication from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California which he completed in 2022. Upon graduating from USC, Brendan began his career in the private sector, working as a recruiter in San Francisco and then as the Associate director of Marketing Strategy at a marketing firm based in Los Angeles, CA. When a position opened up to teach at Diablo Valley College, Brendan jumped at the opportunity as he is a former alumnus of the school and it had been one of his dreams to come back and teach at his alma mater.
Brendan is currently the Faculty Tutoring Coordinator for the Arts, Communication and Language Center at DVC, and is also a mentor in the Puente Project, a program he graduated from while studying at DVC in 2017. He graduated with honors while studying as an undergrad and near the top of class at USC for graduate school.
Brendan loves to walk in nature, draw, write music, and spend time with his friends and family, as well as his dog, Newt. He loves being able to teach at a college that has enriched his life as both a student and now a young professional and tries to live by the motto in education of “enter to learn, leave to serve.”
