Kelsey Mayeda

(she/her)

Program Coordinator, Sr., Student Services & Basic Needs

Kelsey Mayeda works at the San Ramon Campus of Diablo Valley College as the Senior Program Coordinator of Student Services and Basic Needs. She has been working at DVC since 2018 as an adjunct instructor in Communication Studies and transitioned into her current role in July 2024. She was born and raised in the Bay Area and began her education at Chabot College before transferring to California State University, Sacramento, to pursue her bachelor’s degree. She then moved to California State University, Long Beach, to earn her master's degree in Communication Studies.

During her time in Basic Needs, Kelsey has worked with the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano to create the Food Bank Locker program at DVC, which provides students with free grocery items, including shelf-stable goods, dairy products, and fresh produce. She hopes to continue increasing access to services and resources for students at the San Ramon Campus in interesting and innovative ways.

During her time at DVC, she has participated in Academic Senate and the Student Equity and Success committee, and she currently serves as the San Ramon representative on Classified Senate. She also served as the Faculty Tutoring Coordinator at the San Ramon ASC. In previous roles at other institutions, she has worked as the Assistant Director of Forensics at Chabot College and as the Part-Time Faculty Representative on the Faculty Association in the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District.

When not at work, Kelsey enjoys taking walks in the park with her husband, hosting game nights with friends, and cuddling under a cozy blanket with a good book and her three cats.
