Martha Laham

Faculty - Business

Martha Laham is a professor of business administration at Diablo Valley College. She has extensive expertise in marketing and advertising and has been a professor of both for more than 35 years. Additionally, she has over 18 years’ combined experience in marketing and advertising, including advertising management, circulation management, media sales, and event management.

Martha holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine; a Master of Global Management in Global Business from Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University, Phoenix, Arizona; and a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from Golden Gate University, San Francisco. In addition to earning these degrees, she has done postgraduate work in International Economics at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and received a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from Golden Gate University, San Francisco.

Outside of teaching, Martha is a freelance writer and author. She has authored college textbooks in marketing and selling, developed instructional materials for educational publishers, and contributed to HuffPost. Her books include Made Up: How the Beauty Industry Manipulates Consumers, Preys on Women’s Insecurities, and Promotes Unattainable Beauty Standards (first published in 2020), and The Con Game: A Failure of Trust (2014). In her spare time, Martha enjoys spending time with family and friends and indulging in movies and other entertainment content.
