Nicole Hess-Diestler

Program Lead, Technical Theater; Professor of Drama

Nicole (Nikki) joined the DVC family in 2006, relocating from Southern California where she was working in the Theater/TV/ Film industries. Nicole is a tenured faculty member and currently serves as Our Technical Theater CE Lead and Outreach Coordinator. 

She is an active member of AEA, Co-founder of The Bay Area Street Church, A California State Theater Standard Review Board Member, a KCACTF Workshop Presenter, and a Respondent for K.C.A.C.T.F (The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival). Nikki loves the color green. She is a Golden State Warrior’s fanatic, published playwright, beagle owner, and is known for putting corks in students’ mouths, using food-related analogies in her classroom, and using made-up words to describe heightened concepts. Nikki adores and seeks to always honor God, her husband-Zach, her son-Semaje, her parents-Nancy, Greg, Jim, Sherry and John, her chosen family, and her students.
