Nicole McDowell, who brings over 20 years of experience in education and community development, is a proud graduate of Fresno State and holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Mary's College. Nicole's journey in education began as an Advanced Placement history teacher and Vice Principal at Monte Vista High School in Danville, CA. Her career then took her to Sanger Unified School District, where she served as the Adult School Principal, enhancing community education programs and creating opportunities for older adults to achieve their high school diplomas.
In 2013, Nicole took on a new challenge as the Director of Community Education and Workforce Development at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada. There, she led a team that served 10,000 students annually in everything from healthcare programs such as: Clinical Medical Assistant Certification and Pharmacy Technician Certification to fun, community-oriented classes like fly fishing, arts and crafts, and so many more.
After moving back to the Bay Area in 2019, Nicole spent many years at Joya, a locally-owned fitness and wellness studio overseeing business and studio operations, before returning to her first love - education. She is thrilled to be back in the field where she can inspire lifelong learning and connect with the community.
