New to DVC this semester? Join us for Welcome Day!

Welcome Day is a great first step to support your transition to college. This is a fun way to learn about our student activities, clubs, resources and how to get involved at DVC! You’ll meet fellow students and faculty at both our in-person and virtual Welcome Day events.  Registration is required so get your RSVP in now! Welcome to Diablo Valley College!

All students are encouraged to attend our Opening Session, Saturday workshops, and invite their Parents and Families to the information session.

The Opening Session is a warm virtual welcome to DVC including a Faculty & Student Panel and a workshop on Tips for Online Learning. Come hear from fellow students and faculty on tips for your first semester and learn more about how to navigate online courses.

Representatives from Counseling, Financial Aid, Student Life, Career Education, and Student Centers are available to answer your questions! This is a great space for you to learn and ask questions about campus resources available to you.

Workshops Session 1: 10 am - 10:45 am 
  • Transfer Basics: Learn about the basics of transferring to a four-year university including transfer preparation, planning, and application process.
  • Financial Aid & Scholarships: This presentation will give students general information regarding financial aid at DVC- as well as- scholarship options.
  • Student Life: Interested in joining a club? Come learn about DVCSync and the clubs offered on our campus!
  • Career Education and Work Experience Programs: DVC's programs are designed to align academic theory with hands-on experience, skills, and technology employers seek. Learn more about these industry-driven degrees & certificates.
  • Student Centers: This workshop will introduce new students to the variety of programs and services offered in our Interest Area Student Centers.

Resource Fair (In-Person)

Tuesday, Feb 15, 2022

1 pm - 2 pm on the Pleasant Hill and  San Ramon Campuses

Representatives from across the campuses will be available in-person to help answer questions and support your start at DVC. Register below for the full list of representatives that will be featured at each campus. Vaccination and daily health assessment will be required to attend in-person events. Queer DVC Resources for LGBTQIA+ Students
Come learn about the ways in which DVC supports the LGBTQIA+ community in and outside of the classroom. You will get connected with the resources you need, brainstorm strategies to face potential challenges, and meet supportive faculty, counselors, and fellow students.

UndocuSupport Hour
Looking to meet and connect with other undocumented students and allies on campus? You are not alone! Join us for UndocuSupport Hour to learn about the DVC DREAMers Alliance, campus resources, and how you can get involved!

Balancing Work, Life and School
This workshop is designed for working adults returning to school; providing an overview of some basic tools and strategies for success while juggling work, life, and school. Topics will include goal setting, time management, campus resources and support systems.
