Fall 2021 Welcome Day at DVC 

New to DVC? Join us for Welcome Day and get ready to start your college experience this fall! We are excited to invite you to the DVC community with our virtual Welcome Day events. Welcome Day is a great first step to support your successful transition as a new student to college life at DVC. Welcome to Diablo Valley College!

How to register

Choose an Opening Session date below and register to hear from fellow students and faculty on successful tips for your first semester and learn more about how to navigate online courses. Then choose from our list of workshops to learn more about Counseling, Financial Aid, Admissions and Records, Student Life and more. Registration is required, simply click on the workshop title to register for a workshop.

All students are encouraged to attend one Opening Session, two Saturday workshops, and weekday workshops of their choice.  Click on the Opening Sessions below and Saturday workshops to register.

Saturday Workshops, August 14

Representatives from Counseling, Financial Aid, Admissions & Records and Student Life are available to answer your questions! This is a great space for you to clarify any confusion and get personalized support. For example, students in the past have asked: What do I do when I am waitlisted? How should I set myself up for transfer in the first semester? How do I check if my FAFSA was accepted? Do I need a Student ID card?

Queer DVC Resources for LGBTQIA+ Students

Come learn about the ways in which DVC supports the LGBTQIA+ community in and outside of the classroom. You will get connected with the resources you need, brainstorm strategies to face potential challenges, and meet supportive faculty, counselors, and fellow students.

Looking to meet and connect with other undocumented students and allies on campus? You are not alone! Join us for UndocuSupport Hour to learn about the DVC DREAMers Alliance, campus resources, and how you can get involved!

Balancing Work, Life and School

This workshop is designed for working adults returning to school; providing an overview of some basic tools and strategies for success while juggling work, life, and school. Topics will include goal setting, time management, campus resources and support systems.
