Somewhere Beyond the Sea - How Storytelling Connects Pre-colonial America & Polynesia

Somewhere Beyond the Sea invites you to step into an immersive circle of storytelling where Native American and Polynesian traditions meet.

Long before written records, stories carried the wisdom, history, and imagination of entire peoples across vast oceans and landscapes.

Together, we will explore the oral traditions that reveal deep cultural connections between Indigenous peoples of North America and Polynesia. Discover the epic journeys of Polynesian navigators who reached the shores of the Pacific Northwest, and hear how these voyages connect to the rich storytelling traditions of Native tribes along the coast.

This gathering is a space to listen, reflect, and share in the spirit of community. Through dialogue, history, and story, we will uncover the ways in which Indigenous voices, across sea and land, remind us that connection has always been at the heart of human experience.

Come join us to journey through history, navigate the seas of imagination, and celebrate the enduring power of story.
