Important Deadlines - 2026 California Primary Election
- May 05, 2026: Official ballot drop-boxes are open until June 02, 2026 8:00 p.m.
- May 23, 2026: Early Vote Centers open in select counties
- May 28, 2026: Last day to register online & in-person to vote in Primary Election
- June 02, 2026: California Primary Election Day
- June 09, 2026: Last day for Mailed Ballots to be received by the County Election Office.

Official Voting Information Guide
California's "Official Voter Information Guide" has information about candidates running in statewide elections. It also includes voting resources to help you participate.
The guide is mailed to your home before an election. You can also read the guide online at the California Secretary of State website.
Voter Ballot Submission Locations

DVC Pleasant Hill campus has an official ballot drop box in Parking Lot 8 (select the link to see a map).
The DVC San Ramon campus does not have an official drop box. However, the nearby Community Arts Center may have one. The address is 17011 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon, CA. It is located across from the campus.

About Voter Registration

You must be 18 years or older on Election Day. To learn about voter registration requirements and other ways to register, visit the California Voter Registration page.

People who are 16 or 17 years old can pre-register to vote. When they turn 18, they will be automatically registered for any upcoming election. You can read more about pre-registering to vote on the California Secretary of State website.

This program allows confidential voting. It is for residents who do not want their mailing address available to the public. Learn more about the program on the California Secretary of State website.

Online at the Voter Registration website (English & other languages)
You can register at the DMV if you are completing a driver license, ID card, or change of address. You can do this online, by mail, or in-person. Learn more at the California Secretary of State website.
You can pick up an application from the County Election Office, the DMV, or a California library. Then follow the instructions to mail it or hand-deliver it to the County Election Office.
On the DVC campus. Visit the voter registration kiosk in the Pleasant Hill campus library or use the Student Union computer lab (both links open to a map of campus locations).
