4CD Business Pitch Competition Turns Ideas into Opportunities

  • October 21, 2025

Who

The 2025 4CD Business Pitch Competition invites students from across the Contra Costa Community College District (4CD)—including Diablo Valley College, Los Medanos College, and Contra Costa College—to bring their best business ideas to life. Guided by faculty, mentors, and local industry leaders, participants gain valuable experience developing, refining, and presenting their entrepreneurial visions.

This districtwide event is made possible through a strategic partnership with the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), a national organization dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in community colleges.

What

The 4CD Business Pitch Competition gives students the chance to turn bold ideas into real opportunities. Participants will:

  • Develop and test a business concept
  • Create a slide deck (no more than 15 slides)
  • Submit a short written pitch
  • Present their ideas to a live panel of judges

Businesses may be pre-launch or early-stage (with less than $25,000 in total revenue). The top 10 finalists will pitch their ideas live and compete for cash and in-kind prizes, while all participants benefit from mentorship and skill-building workshops.

When

  • Application Deadline: Sunday, November 9 by 11:59 p.m.
  • Finalists Announced: Friday, November 14
  • Live Pitch Competition: Friday, November 21 at 9 a.m.

Where

The live competition and supporting workshops will be hosted at Diablo Valley College’s Pleasant Hill campus.

Why

The 4CD Business Pitch Competition encourages students to think creatively, solve real-world problems, and gain confidence as emerging entrepreneurs. With support from NACCE, this initiative connects local talent to a national network of innovators—helping students turn their passions into purpose-driven ventures.
