The FTVE program welcomes all media creators and can prepare students for immediate employment in film production and post-production, television and electronic media.
“Growing up in a single-parent home, I often felt the sting of economic uncertainty. Watching my mother struggle financially and my father struggle with past addiction, I knew I had to find a long-term career. I thought that would be the Army until I became ill and was honorably discharged due to my heart condition. I came up with a new plan and got to work,” said Adrienne Navarro, who completed her associate in science in allied health at DVC
Kosmakos enrolled in DVC’s film, television, and electronic media (FTVE) program, where he earned a certificate of accomplishment in television arts – studio production.
“DVC has long been recognized for meeting students wherever they are on their educational path, and guiding them to success,” said Paul Pitner, professor for early childhood education at DVC.
“During my first year at DVC, I was at a crossroads. While at a dental cleaning appointment, my hygienist asked me about my goals. She told me how much she enjoyed being a dental hygienist. After that conversation, I looked into dental hygiene, and the rest is history,” said Michael Vu, a 2015 graduate of the DVC dental hygiene program.
A single parent with two daughters, Lanoie chose DVC to take steps towards a career in social work. She enrolled in DVC’s addiction studies program and will also earn an associate in arts for transfer (AD-T/AA-T) in psychology.
Gordon later enrolled at DVC to earn an associate in arts degree in animation. He had learned about DVC’s foster youth program while in high school, so he met with the coordinator of the Student Transition and Academic Retention Team (START) program.
