A single parent with two daughters, Lanoie chose DVC to take steps towards a career in social work. She enrolled in DVC’s addiction studies program and will also earn an associate in arts for transfer (AD-T/AA-T) in psychology.

DVC celebrates and honors the 50th anniversary of the landmark federal legislation referred to as Title IX. According to the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights website, Title IX states, “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
Diablo Valley College (DVC) is proud to welcome Dr. Monica Chahal as its next permanent president. The Contra Costa Community College District (4CD) announced the selection on May 19, 2025 with final contract ratification set for June 11, 2025.

The DVC Inclusivity & Wellness Center (IWC) ensures that DREAMers, LGBTQIA+ students, students from immigrant communities, historically underrepresented students, and students from low-income backgrounds have access to resources and support in a welcoming, sacred space.
DVC graduate Karla Morales De Leon eagerly stepped into her college journey as a first-generation student at DVC in the spring of 2021 propelled by a fascination with physics.
DVC MESA students joined industry professionals in San Francisco for an invite-only STEM conference designed to build future leaders in engineering & computer science.
Public health professions focus on the prevention of illness, injury and disease to promote and protect the health of people and the communities where they live, work and play. Job responsibilities might include promoting healthy lifestyles, researching disease and injury prevention, improving health inequities among underserved populations, and detecting, preventing, and responding to infectious diseases, such as COVID-19.
