Students interested in careers that combine art and technology can enroll in either the art digital media program or the film, television and electronic media (FTVE) program. Art digital media students can specialize in animation, game design, graphic design, and interaction design. FTVE students learn skills to prepare for careers in film, broadcasting, online media, and more.
What is the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Grant? The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Grant is a federally-funded program offered through the Department of Labor. The funds help dislocated workers and adults with significant employment barriers train to enter or re-enter the job market.

“I decided to become an early childhood education teacher because of the fond memories of my early schooling. Many students stack credentials. This means they work in the field while enrolled and pursue multiple certificates or degrees to advance in their career.

Diablo Valley College offers two exciting programs to prepare you for entry-level work in the fitness industry. Choose form a two-year associate of science degree in fitness instruction or a one-year personal training certificate of achievement.
DVC career education programs integrate hands-on learning right in the classroom. Students also have many options to learn in a work setting. This is referred to as work-based learning. During the pandemic, some DVC faculty had to get creative, offering virtual experiential learning rather than in-person opportunities. But with a greater number of classes being held on-campus in fall 2021, students will be able to enjoy the hands-on experiences they have become accustomed to at DVC.
