The DVC Administration of Justice Program prepares students for careers in the criminal justice system, whether as civilians or as sworn federal, state, or local officers. Other options include crime scene investigation, intelligence analysis, law and public policy, public safety and advocacy.

Music Technology Center

DVC’s Music Technology Center is a cutting-edge facility where students gain hands-on experience in music production, audio engineering, and music business.

Journalism

The DVC journalism program teaches news writing, reporting, and digital storytelling, preparing students for careers in print, online, and broadcast media.

Philosophy

Philosophy sharpens critical thinking and understanding of self and humanity, preparing you for careers in education, law, and writing, and fulfills CSU/UC transfer requirements.

Sociology

The sociology program explores society's structure and dynamics, preparing students for careers in social work, public policy, and criminal justice, or transfer to a four-year university.

Special Education

A special education certificate or degree prepares students to work as paraeducators/instructional assistants with individuals with special needs, covering disabilities, teaching strategies, psychology, and practical experience. This program

Political Science

The political science program explores government, politics, and policy, preparing students for careers in law, public service, and advocacy or transfer to four-year schools.

Geography

Geography is an interdisciplinary study style program at DVC preparing you to work in private, government or non-profit settings. This growing field has many career options, including geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), social and cultural geography and drone technology.

Economics

The Economics program provides a strong foundation in economic theory and principles, preparing students for careers in business, finance, and public policy.
