Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The 2023-2024 and 2024-20225 FAFSA is available online. Apply today to see if you are eligible for financial aid.

2023-2024 FAFSA (for summer '23, fall '23, spring '23, and summer '24)

  • Application Open: October 1, 2022
  • Priority Deadline for Cal Grant: March 2, 2023 (all CA students) and September 2, 2023 (community college students only)
  • Deadline: June 30, 2024

2024-2025 FAFSA (for summer '24, fall '24, spring '25, and summer '25)

Application Open: December 31, 2023
Priority Deadline for Cal Grant: May 2, 2024 (all CA students) and September 2, 2024 (community college students only)
Deadline: June 30, 2025

California Dream Act Application (CADAA)

The 2023-2024 California Dream Act Application is available online. 

  • Application Open: October 1, 2023
  • Deadline for Cal Grant: September 2, 2023
  • Deadline for CA Promise Grant: June 30, 2024

The 2024-2025 California Dream Act Application is available online. 

Application Open: December 31, 2023**
Deadline for Cal Grant: September 2, 2024
Deadline for CA Promise Grant: June 30, 2025

Apply today to see if you are eligible for financial aid. DREAMers must complete the CA Dream Act Application by September 2 to qualify for the Cal Grant. Applications completed after September 2 will still be considered for California College Promise Grant eligibility.

*Due to delayed release of 2045-2025 CA Dream Act Application, the Financial Aid Office may not begin processing applications until summer 2024.

California College Promise Grant (CCPG)

To apply for the California Promise Grant you must submit the following application by the following deadlines:

2023-2024 Academic Year

  • 2023-2024 FAFSA: June 30, 2024
  • 2023-2024 California Dream Act Application: June 30, 2024
  • 2023-2024 Online California Promise Grant Application: June 30, 2024

2024-2025 Academic Year

  • 2024-2025 FAFSA: June 30, 2025
  • 2024-2025 California Dream Act Application: June 30, 2025
  • 2024-2025 Online California Promise Grant Application: June 30, 2025
Cal Grant

To be considered for a 2024-2025 Cal Grant award, you must have completed both the (1) FAFSA or DREAM Act Application and (2) the GPA Verification form by April 2, 2024 or September 2, 2023. The Admissions and Records Office can help you with filling out the GPA Verification form or, in some cases, submit your GPA electronically.

CA Community College Deadline: September 2, 2024

Financial aid payment schedule

For information regarding financial aid disbursements refer to the 2024-2025 Financial Aid Disbursement Calendar by going to the Financial Aid file on InSite. Please note that only students with complete files that have been sent an award notification may receive a disbursement. You can check the status of your application through InSite.

Don't forget to select how you would like to receive your financial aid refund (disbursement)!  To learn more or to select your refund preference visit BankMobile Disbursements or visit http://bankmobiledisbursements.com/refundchoicessso/.

All financial aid students are required to check their DVC student email account through InSite on a regular basis in order to receive notifications, file status updates, announcements, and further instructions from the Financial Aid Office.
