Dismantling Menstrual Stigma

Using Counter Narratives as an Act of Social Justice

Dr. Carmen McNeilDr. Carmen McNeil

Join the welcoming conversation facilitated by DVC Psychology Professor, Dr. Carmen McNeil. We’ll explore the consequences of menstrual stigma (e.g., ignorance, misunderstanding, bullying, school absenteeism, fear, shame, and anxiety), and gain insights into the ways these issues affect both menstruating and non-menstruating individuals. This holistic understanding illuminates how our culture of silence perpetuates marginalization and demonstrates the need to foster inclusive environments that contribute to mental healthiness and well-being. Everyone is welcome to attend.
