The choice of a college is an important decision and we are very pleased that you are interested in Diablo Valley College. DVC has consistently been among the community colleges with the highest transfer rates to the University of California and the California State University systems. DVC also has strong career/technical programs to meet student and employer needs. Career/technical programs range from Sports Medicine to Computer Network Technology to Energy Systems. The college also offers life-long learning opportunities to students to upgrade their job skills, develop personal skills, or pursue individual academic interests.
The Instruction Office coordinates daily, nightly, online and weekend instructional activities for the college. The office provides a wide range of support functions including:
The Transfer and General Education emphasis in the Instruction Office is designed to coordinate and assess the effectiveness of courses and programs to ensure student success in transfer. Increasing student access through flexible scheduling is a major priority.
The Workforce Development emphasis in the office focuses on maintaining the relevancy and currency of career/technical certificate courses and programs.
Both functions work with the Articulation Officer to monitor the status of course articulation with universities and high schools.
Office hours during Fall and Spring terms are Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-10 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Hours during Summer are Monday-Thursday 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
