Diablo Valley College students earned national recognition at the 2025 AAICE Student Works Expo, a nationwide competition celebrating student achievement in Mandarin language and Chinese culture.
In December 2025, five DVC students submitted projects to the American Academy of International Culture and Education (AAICE) Student Works Expo. Four of those projects were selected for display on the organization’s official website, an impressive accomplishment at the national level.
Among the featured works were "Chinese Traditional Dances—Dearest to My Heart" by Brandon Palaganas, "South of the Colorful Clouds" by Mica Wojno, and "Ancient Poem Painting and Recitation" by Queenie Pan. These projects were also showcased during the Expo’s college-level celebratory event, held live on February 8, 2026. In addition, Erin Diaz’s performance of the Chinese song "It’s Almost Love" was selected and featured on the official website.
The AAICE Student Works Expo provides students across the country with a platform to demonstrate their creativity, cultural understanding and appreciation of Mandarin language studies. DVC students’ success reflects their dedication, hard work and enthusiasm for learning.
Special thanks to Huiqin An, DVC Chinese Program faculty and advisor for the 2025 AAICE Student Works Expo, for her leadership and support in guiding students through the competition.
Congratulations to all participating students for representing DVC with excellence.
