During the pandemic, some DVC faculty had to get creative, offering virtual experiential learning rather than in-person opportunities. But with a greater number of classes being held on-campus in fall 2021, students will be able to enjoy the hands-on experiences they have become accustomed to at DVC.
Diablo Valley College (DVC) hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking to kick off the construction of its new, 32,500-square-foot Engineering Technology Building on the Pleasant Hill campus.
In November 2023, six students from DVC’s Chinese program entered the National Chinese Expo of Student Works. The objective of this event is to provide students with a platform to show their talents as well as their experience in learning the target language.

“I decided to become an early childhood education teacher because of the fond memories of my early schooling. I remember the warm teachers, the smell of the paint materials and the moments of play,” said Luis Gonzalez, a student enrolled in the early childhood education (ECE) program at DVC. Many students stack credentials. This means they work in the field while enrolled and pursue multiple certificates or degrees to advance in their career.
