Complete the following steps prior to submitting an application
- Enroll in at least 12 units for the current term.
- Exceptions: Parent students and former or current foster youth may apply with a minimum of 9 units. DSS students may submit a DSS certification to enroll in fewer than 12 units.
- If you are a former or current foster youth, we can assist you with the EOPS application and share information about our START+NextUp Foster Youth Program and other supports. Contact us at START@dvc.edu
- Be eligible to receive the California Promise Grant (formerly known as the Board of Governors Fee Waiver).
- To apply submit your application to the Financial Aid Office and allow at least 48 hours for processing.
- If you are an undocumented student, please contact Financial Aid if you have questions about your CA Promise Grant eligibility or other financial aid.
We also recommend students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for additional college financial aid programs. Completion of the FAFSA is highly recommended but not required for EOPS eligibility.
Spring 2026 Application
The EOPS Spring 2026 application is now available.
Potential CARE Students
CARE applicants must submit a copy of their most current Notice of Action (dated within one month of the start of the term), attend a new CARE student orientation, and meet additional CARE eligibility requirements.
The EOPS Office will email you updates about your application to your DVC InSite email.
Eligible students who are offered a space in the program must attend an EOPS New Student Orientation to officially join EOPS and receive EOPS or CARE services.
