Practice questions are a great way to help prepare you for the English, math, ESL and chemistry assessments.
The English Assessment consists of includes twenty Reading Comprehension and one writing topic. Please visit the College Board Accuplacer Practice site for sample Reading Comprehension questions. Please note, we are currently using the 'classic' assessment. There is also a WritePlacer® sample essay you can review to understand what is considered a well written essay.
The Assessment Center is currently using the 'classic' version of the College Level
Math assessment. Please visit the College Board Accuplacer Practice site for sample questions. If these sample questions are too difficult for your
current abilities, please visit our Informed Student Self-Assessment (ISSA) to help
determine an appropriate level of math.
Since the ISSA can be taken on any device with Internet access and does not require supervision, there are no practice questions for the ISSA. You can take this assessment as many times as you would like. To learn more about taking the ISSA, visit math assessment page. ISSA can only be used to assess your math skills and cannot be used to clear prerequisites in courses other than math.
The ESL Assessment consists of 20 multiple choice Reading Skills questions and 20 multiple choice Language use questions. For samples for these assessments, please visit the College Board Accuplacer Practice site and select ESL Assessment in the drop down menu.
The Assessment Center has a sample chemistry assessment available to students. You may also review your high school chemistry textbook or stop by the DVC Library to review the textbook used in Chemistry 108.
