The Constitution in Contentious Times: Why the First Amendment Matters
A Discussion about Free Speech, the Free Press, Rights of Assembly, and Petitioning Grievances

For our Constitution Day Event this year, please Join Professor Mickey Huff, chair of the Journalism Department, as he engages in conversation with Dr. Sangha Niyogi and Dr. Albert Ponce, co-directors of the Social Justice Program at DVC. They will discuss constitutional principles relating to political expression and protest, from Black Lives Matter to the COVID-19 Lockdown, with a focus on current events at the national and local level. The speakers will also engage with students and other attendees for additional discussion and Q&A.
