Welcome!

Welcome to the journalism program at Diablo Valley College, home of the historic, award-winning, student-run newspaper, The Inquirer.

We're proud to help you build skills for:

  • Writing accurate and compelling stories that get published
  • Raising awareness around community and social injustices
  • Encouraging well-informed, meaningful civic engagement

Over the past five years, we have revitalized our program with new faculty and updated courses to keep up with an ever-changing, rapidly evolving media industry.

We have a proven track record of successfully placing students in local media positions that kickstart their careers or assisting them with transfer pathways to higher education.

With a curriculum focused on storytelling and a team of award-winning faculty helping you to "be the media", DVC’s journalism program is your pipeline into the professional media market.

Come be part of the journalism team!
