EducationUSA Academy is a two-week intensive business/entrepreneurship academic prep program in the San Francisco Bay Area for international high school students.

Deadline to apply is June 1, 2024

Self-funded students are encouraged to apply earlier in order to provide sufficient time for visa application and processing, and pre-departure activities before classes begin.

About DVC

Diablo Valley College (DVC) is located in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area city of Pleasant Hill, CA, a residential area approximately 45 minutes away by car from San Francisco. DVC also has a satellite campus in San Ramon, CA. DVC is one of the three colleges that make up the Contra Costa Community College District. Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Napa Valley, the Pacific Ocean as well as Silicon Valley are within driving distance for weekend activities.

DVC's student body of 28,000 includes 10,000 full time students. Currently there are 600 international students representing 58 nationalities at DVC. An active student life is found on campus with more than 75 student clubs, International Student Club, International Education Week activities, and events for international students. DVC offers tremendous value with smaller class sizes, free academic tutoring and educational planning.

 Steps to apply

  1. Register
  2. Email the following required documents to intlapp@dvc.edu (Subject: DVC EducationUSA Academy)
  3. Secure housing through the DVC Education USA Homestay program

Program fee 

Total cost: $3,700 (includes tuition, homestay with meals, airport pickup, health insurance and activities). 

Description of curricula

Students will enroll into DVC Community Education (Not for Credit) courses.

Schedule

Classes will take place 4.5 hours per day (Monday-Thursday) - 36 Total hours of instruction. 

  • Class 1: 9:30 am - 10:50 am
  • Class 2: 11:00 am - 12:20 pm
  • Lunch Break: 12:20 pm - 1:30 pm
  • Class 3: 1:30 pm - 2:50 pm
  • Afternoon Workshops/Activities: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

At the conclusion of the program, students will be asked to provide a business presentation from content learned from all three classes. Program certificates will be provided to students.
