How to Prepare for a Successful Transfer Day & Earn Extra Credit

Preparing for Transfer Days

1.  Click on one of the links above to see who is attending and to find out more details.

2.  Make a list of the universities/colleges you would like to speak with and are interested in so you have a plan.

  • Make sure to budget time for each university rep, and to allow extra time for the “popular” schools.
  • Broaden your horizons and approach and talk to schools you’ve never thought about. You never know if it ends up being “the one” school you’ve been looking for!
  • With private schools, ask if they have need-based or merit-based scholarships. They might end up being more affordable than you think.

3.  Bring a list of specific questions you have regarding the school to ask the representative so you don’t forget.

4.  Bring a notepad to write down answers.

5. Ask for the university representative’s contact information in case you have follow-up questions later on.

*If your professor is offering extra credit for attending the event, attend at least 3 different university representative's rooms and/or presentations and take a screen shot to verify your attendance. Write a 1 paragraph summary for each representative meeting room or presentation you visited/attended.
