Information and Updates: DVC Career Academies Summer 2020 Interest Card

 

Diablo Valley College, in collaboration with the Contra Costa Economic Partnership, is hosting an Engineering, Construction, and Manufacturing Summer Career Academy. Explore theory and practice, a blend of hands-on exploration, problem-solving, industry field visits, and expert industry viewpoints. Learn about programming and robotics. Learn work-ready essential skills and meet industry representatives. Interested students must complete the registration packet below and enroll in CONST-101-2152 or 2153.

Cost:

High school students pay ONLY $1.00 per unit.

College credit:

CONST-101-2152 or 2153: Earn 1 unit college credit and 2.5 units of high school credit.

Requirements:

Special Admissions Recommendation Form

  • Fill out and have signed by your high school principal before school gets out for summer
  • Hold on to this signed form until you receive an email stating you have been accepted into the Career Academy
  • Once accepted, you will be able to turn in this form starting June 2019 at either the Pleasant Hill or San Ramon Campus
  • Campus Hours: PHC - Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm and Tuesday 8:00am-7:00pm; SRC - Monday-Thursday 9:00am-6:30pm *Closed Fridays
Who can apply:

This course is appropriate for students entering grades 10, 11, and 12 for Fall 2020

Notes:
  • Breakfast, snacks, and lunch will be provided.
  • Because this class gives college credit, students must attend everyday for the whole time or they may receive a non-passing grade for the class on their college transcript.
