Appointment Information - Fall 2023
Appointments are reserved for current DVC students who need to develop or update an
education plan, or discuss career/transfer goals. Please Remember: All Students will
be asked to show a physical Photo ID when meeting with a counselor.
To schedule an appointment and meet with a counselor, use the SRC Online Appointment System. You may also call the SRC Counseling Office: 925-551-6209 for assistance in scheduling
an appointment. Note: Athletes, Veterans & EOPS students must call to schedule an appointment.
Transcript Evaluation: Students who have taken courses at other colleges/universities should submit their
official transcript(s) to DVC Admissions and request a transcript evaluation by phone
925-551-6209, or in person to schedule a "transcript evaluation" appointment. Transcripts must be submitted to Admissions & Records (A&R) two-weeks prior to a counseling
appointment. Counseling appointments will be rescheduled if the transcript has not
been submitted in advance of the counseling appointment.
Maximum Time Frame (MTF) Appeals: Students who need a counseling appointment for Financial Aid - Maximum Time Frame
(MTF) appeals can schedule an appointment by phone 925-551-6209, or in person.
Current High School: HS students concurrently enrolled in college courses are not eligible for appointments
with college counselors. HS students still need to meet with their HS counselor or
principal's office for college planning.
Incoming freshman: Who have completed a Counseling 95 course may visit drop-in counseling over the summer
for quick questions, and to schedule appointments once the Fall semester begins.
If you are a graduating high school student sign up for Couns 95: Educational Planning for New Students
DROP-IN'S: Are used for quick check-ins about DVC deadlines, procedures, major, class, or program
info. SRC offers in-person, zoom, and phone drop-in sessions, that allow students to meet
with a counselor for 10-15 minutes on a first come first served basis. All students
taking DVC courses are eligible to drop-in for a quick chat.
To sign up for a virtual drop-in session, use the Online Appointment System or call the Counseling Office at 925-551-6209 to be added to the drop-in list.
